“Chouke” is a cute name given to someone (mainly in the Brussels region).
Saint-Gilles is also the town where the brussels sprout saw the light of day during the 17th century, it was first grown there on its many vegetable patches.

SUBJECT : the municipality of Saint-Gilles commissioned this map from me to illustrate the historical identity of the commune, through its architectural, landscape and cultural heritage. It shows in a sensitive and subjective way remarkable spaces (buildings, parks, squares, etc.) as well as places of Saint-Gilloise gastronomy (in black), landmarks for the inhabitants of the town.
